Oberführer Wolfram Von List is a character from the Call of Duty franchise, introduced in the game Call of Duty: Vanguard. He serves as one of the main antagonists of the zombies mode, alongside Kortifex, an evil elder god.
History[]
Little is known about his early life, however what is known is that he joined the Third Reich during his adult years.
Bonding With Kortifex[]
Von List had served amongst the elite schutzstaffel, particularly leading the Die Wahrheit group and looking for ways to win the war in favor of the Nazis. By the 40s however, his desperation took hold and he sought any means to win, even by means of the supernatural. He gathered multiple historians, archaeologists and even museum curators to scour the land in search of artifacts which potentially held great power. He even met with demonologist Professor Gabriel Kraffft, who initially refused his offer, only to be forced into it, following Von List shooting his assistant Franz. His quest for a solution to turning the war in his favor would end, when one of the artifacts gathered, was from the realm of the Dark Aether. Taking up the object, he bonded with the evil elder god, Kortifex the Deathless.
Bonded to the being, Von List discovered that through his bond, he was able to raise scores of dead bodies from their graves as zombies, which he would lead alongside Kortifex and his Die Wahrheit soldiers.
Legacy[]
Sometime later, it was revealed that Von List had failed in his quest to dominate the world with Kortifex's abilities, due to Professor Kraffft, a group of allied operators and Dark Aether Elder Gods who were mortal enemies of Kortifex.

Physical Appearance[]
Von List is a male caucasian of either German or Austrian descent, with short dark brown hair and brown eyes. His face has chisseled features and he speaks with a somewhat thick German accent.
Personality & Traits[]
Von List is a loyal member of the Third Reich, so much so that he would look for anyway to ensuring it's survival. He is extremely persistent, typically resorting to violence when diplomacy fails and even possessing somewhat of a god complex, following his bond with Kortifex.

- Divine Empowerment: When Von List took up Kortifex's artifact, he bonded with the elder god. As such, he gained powers and abilities which he sought as a means to win the war for Germany.
- Resurrection: Through his bond with Kortifex, Von List was able to raise scores of dead bodies back to life, simply by raising his hands upward. The dead who return to life are in fact, not alive at all, but are zombified. Because he commands these creatures, Von List is able to keep them from attacking him or the soldiers of his group, known as Die Wahrheit.
- Teleportation: Aside from reanimating the dead, Von List is also capable of teleporting zombies from one place to another at will. He is able to do this for multiple zombies, without any kind of strain.
