Blades aren't better then guns, and vice versa

Pros of Guns

Gun are a much more versitle weapon the blades are. You can engage zombies at long range with the bullets fired from the gun, but you can also use the gun itself to beat the zombie. Also, the one of the biggest dangers of fighting zombies-infection-can is becoming infected, and using guns to shoot the zombies at long range takes this away from them. Also, reloading guns is quicker and easier then sharpening a blade.

Cons of Guns

They are loud. Really loud. The sound of the gunshot can (and eventually will) attract zombies. Also, hitting the head of a zombie at long ranges is difficult to do. Ammo of all sizes is heavy too, which gives you more weight to carry. All guns jam after extended use, and must be fixed and repaired when such things happen, and require maintence before hand to stop these things from happening.

Pros of Melee weapons

They are everywhere. Everything can be used as a melee weapon. They don't need to be constantly reloaded, are easily made and are easily available.

Cons of Melee weapons

Just like guns, Melee weapons need to be maintained. Blades need to be sharpened, and all other melee weapons will eventually break. Sharpening a blade requires special equipment, and if the blade is dull can take a while. They also require you to get close to kill the zombie, which means that you can easily get infected-the chance of getting infected increase if the zombies are the ones featured in WWZ. If the human weilding the weapon isn't very strong, the effects of the weapon will vary greatly. Also, a melee weapon can get stuck inside of the zombie, meaning that you will have to take it out while fighting off other undead.

The arguments over which type of weapon is better is stupid. A guy who tries to survive a zombie apocolypse using only guns isn't going to succeed all the time, but either is a guy who only uses melee. Guns provide you with range, and you can carry a lot more bullets then blades. However, blades allow you to easily defend yourself in a very close quarter battle.

More stuff to come.
