The Standard Infantry Entrenchment Tool or SIET, otherwise known as The Lobotomizer or The Lobo is a melee combat weapon/shovel hybrid, wielded by soldiers in World War Z.

World War Z[]

Homefront USA[]

The Lobo is first mentioned when Arthur Sinclair Jr, former head of Department of Strategic Resources, which was dedicated to getting people supplied and back to work in order to aid in the fight against the living dead. Among one of the things produced was this weapon, which was made, according to Sinclair, was designed by the leathernecks, using the steel, recycled from cars. 23,000,000 were made during the war and still produced, alongside the Standard Infantry Rifle.

Reclaiming Our Future[]

According to veteran Todd Wainio, the Lobo was something out of "Lord of the Rings" and were issued to troops. Standard orders were to wield the weapon only when necessary, which they made necessary a lot. Many found it to be both personal and empowering to kill zombies with, as if they were "Taking back their life" as it were.
