Capt. Henry Rhodes is a fictional character seen in both the 1985 film Day of the Dead and it's 2008 remake. He is played by Joseph Pilato in the original, with Dawn of the Dead remake star Ving Rhames portraying him in the 2008 film.
Day of the Dead (1985)[]
Capt. Rhodes was under the command of Maj. Cooper during the zombie apocalypse, however after Cooper's death, Rhodes took command. As a result, both he and the science team stationed in Fort Meyers, began budding heads with each other. These arguments particularly began on the concepts of shortages in supplies, slow progression in research and a loss of communication with the other survivors.
Day of the Dead (2008)[]
Personality[]
1985[]
Following having to take command of the crew at Fort Meyers, Rhodes had shown to be extremely strict with his command. Strict enough to get on anyone's nerves, especially the civilians who worked there. Rhodes was a soldier who needed everything at his disposal, caring little for the psychological conditions of people like Miguel Salazar. As far as his command went, Rhodes didn't tolerate people stepping out of line and as a result, would have had them court martialed and executed.
