Gerald Tovar Jr. is a fictional character, featured in Night of the Living Dead 3D, portrayed by the late Sid Haig.
Biography[]
Gerald was born to mortician, Gerald Tovar Sr. He would eventually begin working with his father, particularly in the field of embalming, however at some point, became extremely pyrophobic. They got many of their best clients through medical and experimental materials that they didn't want to have to report. His father would later die, 2 years prior to the events of the movie and since then, due to his phobia, began storing the bodies of the deceased that were supposed to be cremated, as well as medical and experimental materials.
Night of the Living Dead 3D (2006)[]
2 years following the death of his father and storing hundreds of bodies that were supposed to be cremated, as well as medical and experimental materials, he began noticing that some of the bodies began twitching here and there, which made him think his mind was playing tricks on him. It wouldn't be long after however, that the dead began rising up and walking about, making him unable to avoid anything any longer. Despite his best effort to ensure that he sealed the medical materials away, there was some leakage and it got onto his embalming tools, resulting in them coming back to life. He was able to control the reanimated dead for a good 2 weeks however, before he realized that they could turn others via bites.
