Most fictional bases offer at least a little bit of protection against zombies and other threats.

Films[]

Characters are sometimes seen in laboratories, studying the disease that has plagued their world.

Characters often hide in houses of people they have once known, or maybe their own house because they have no other place to go.

Video Games[]

In Call of Duty: World at War and Black Ops, players team up to defend themselves from horde after horde of Nazi zombies. The zombies can break barriers. Rebuilding barriers gives players points (to spend on weapons, upgrades, perks, and what-not).

The Command and Conquer series involves building bases and troops to take out enemies.

In Halo: Combat Evolved, the Flood takes over the UNSC's Pillar of Autumn and the Covenant's Truth and Reconciliation.

In Halo 2, the Flood attacks High Charity.

In Spartan Assault, there's a bonus mission in which Spartans fight against the Flood.

The Flood appear in the game Halo Wars, a real-time strategy game like C and C. The Flood tend to attack the player's squad.

Television Shows[]

In the hit series "The Walking Dead", there are many different bases that the main characters wind up at, such as Terminus, the settlement filled with cannibalistic humans, and the prison, where a deadly disease broke out that killed many people.
